Southern Region: Efforts To Control Communicable Diseases Register Encouraging Outcome

In an assessment meeting conducted in Dubarwa sub-zone, it was disclosed that health campaigns carried out in the Southern region to prevent communicable diseases is bearing fruitful outcome. Dubarwa, 23 February 2011 – In an assessment meeting conducted in Dubarwa sub-zone, it was disclosed that health campaigns carried out in the Southern region to prevent communicable diseases is bearing fruitful outcome. It was also indicated that diseases that broke out in 2010 were put under control owing to swift majors.

The head of communicable disease prevention unit in the region, Mr.  Asefaw Gebremichael said that concerted efforts are underway to prevent the spread of communicable diseases in the Southern region, and that endeavors would be further reinforced.
The head of the branch office of the Ministry of Health in Southern region, Dr. Tesfalem Gebrekidan, said that awareness regarding communicable diseases is on raise and highlighted the need for redoubling efforts for more gratifying outcomes.
