A micro-dam is under construction in Ashera administrative area, Hagaz sub-zone, so as to alleviate shortage of water supply, according to reports.

Hagaz, 25 February 2011 – A micro-dam is under construction in Ashera administrative area, Hagaz sub-zone, so as to alleviate shortage of water supply, according to reports. The dam under construction at a cost of 5 million Nakfa is expected to enrich surface and underground water, provide potable water supply and promote irrigation farming.

Ashera is one of the 16 administrative areas of Hagaz sub-zone and has over 2,000 inhabitants.
