Elaberad, 26 February 2011 – A potable water supply project has been implemented in Dembe Habtesion administrative area, Elaberad sub-zone, at a cost of over 3 million Nakfa.
The project that involves a reservoir, 6 water distribution stations, 3.5 Km-long water pipeline and a generator has already began providing potable water supply to the inhabitants of Dembe Habtesion and Bera’na.
Speaking at the inauguration ceremony, the Administrator of Anseba region, Mr. Gergis Girmai, said that the implementation of the project attests to the Government’s endeavors to provide potable water supply to all citizens. He also called on the inhabitants to cultivate their land in advance as the area is endowed with fertile land, besides undertaking road renovation activities.
The head of infrastructure development in the region, Mr. Gebru Haile, commended the active participation of the local inhabitants in the implementation of the project and urged them to apply judicious utilization of water resource.
