Halhale natural fertilizer manufacturing plant in Dubarwa sub-zone, Southern region, is striving to boost its production catering for the cultivation of big trees and vegetables, according to the manager of the plant, Ms. Azieb Tsegay.
Dubarwa, 27 February 2011 – Halhale natural fertilizer manufacturing plant in Dubarwa sub-zone, Southern region, is striving to boost its production catering for the cultivation of big trees and vegetables, according to the manager of the plant, Ms. Azieb Tsegay.
Ms. Azieb told ERINA that the natural manure which is manufactured from waste products of cattle and chicken as well as leftover foods is free from side effects and is helpful in preventing pests and weeds.
Mr. Fikadu Tesfamichael, an expert in fertilizer and pesticide, said that they are stepping up efforts to enhance farmers’ awareness regarding natural fertilizer. He disclosed that the method of preparing natural fertilizer was taken from the farmers of the country.
Ms. Azieb further pointed out that plans are underway to collect additional raw materials from marine sources to promote production.
The Administrator of Southern region, Mr. Mustafa Nurhusein, who conducted a tour to observe the activities of the plant, underscored the need for owners of the plant to work in maintaining sound ecology instead of endeavoring merely for business.
