Proper Use of Teaching Aids Highlighted In Barentu sub-zone

The branch head of the Education Ministry in the Barentu sub-zone, Mr. Afadish Samuel, called for the proper use of teaching aids so as to promote the quality of education.

Barentu, 4 March 2011- The branch head of the Education Ministry in the Barentu sub-zone, Mr. Afadish Samuel, called for the proper use of teaching aids so as to promote the quality of education.

 

Indicating that there are elementary schools in 13 administrative areas of the sub zone, Mr. Afadish said that enrollment rates are on the rise and reminded schools to effectively carry out their tasks for more gratifying outcomes.

During an assessment meeting, it was disclosed that there are 11, 000 students in different school levels in the sub zone, of which 5,000 are females. It was further disclosed that enrollment rates have increased by 16% in comparison with the previous year and the participation of female students has shown a 46% rise.

As a result of the efforts to increase the distribution of access to education in the sub-zone, an elementary and junior school was constructed in Anagulu. There are also five kindergartens and one junior and secondary school in Barentu. Stating that there are 24 schools in the sub zone giving regular services, Mr. Afadish explained that enrollment rates are still much higher in urban areas.
