The inhabitants of Anseba region become beneficiaries of efficient service as regards administration of justice, according to Mr. Godefa Gebrendrias, court coordinator in the region. Keren, 5 March 2011 – The inhabitants of Anseba region become beneficiaries of efficient service as regards administration of justice, according to Mr. Godefa Gebrendrias, court coordinator in the region. He told ERINA the inhabitants are relieved of unnecessary wastage of time and energy as they obtain accessible court service.
Mr. Godefa further indicated that there are 45 magistrate courts, 3 regional courts, sheria court and a High Court. He noted that the opening of High Court in the region has relieved the people who were compelled to travel to Asmara and Agordat to get the service.
Mr. Godefa explained that the judges in magistrate courts are striving in settling disputes through reconciliation and that public awareness regarding law is on the rise. There are also plans to open 5 additional magistrate courts in the sub-zones of Keren, Hagaz, Elabered, Geleb and Kerkebet, he added.
