Elementary school opened in Aget administrative area

A new elementary school has been opened in Aget administrative area, Afabet sub-zone, and is already providing service.
Afabet, 5 March 2011 – A new elementary school has been opened in Aget administrative area, Afabet sub-zone, and is already providing service.

The director of the school, Mr. Mohammed Bekit Idris,  said that it has enrolled 100 students, out of whom 45 are females who have long being deprived of educational opportunity due nomadic pattern of living. He further stated that the number of students likely to grow as the result of enhanced awareness.

The Administrator of the area, Mr. Mohammed Humed Mohammed, indicated the solar energy-generating potable water supply, coupled with the newly opened school would play vital role in encouraging the people to get regrouped in one community.

Aget administrative area, which is located 80 Km. north of Afabet, is inhabited by about 700 families and that 105 of them have so far been regrouped.
