Popular Soil And Water Conservation Activities Carried Out In Mai-Tera and Serha Administrative Areas
Soil and water conservation activities were carried out in Mai-Tera and Serha administrative areas, Senafe sub-zone, through popular campaign.
Senafe, 8 March 2011 – Soil and water conservation activities were carried out in Mai-Tera and Serha administrative areas, Senafe sub-zone, through popular campaign. Mr. Woldemichael Gebremichael, an expert in soil and water conservation, stated that the inhabitants of Kokobai, Mai-Tseada, Embamedihan and Serha villages have commenced leveling land in February and are continuing their activities diligently.
Mr. Mulgeta Gebrehiwet, one of the inhabitants of Serha, said that the campaign is aimed at ensuring food security and expressed conviction that the efforts would assist them to improve their living standard. Also, Ms. Rigat Sium, head of Mai-Tera administration, called on the Ministry of Agriculture to extend assistance to address shortage of equipments they have in the campaign.
