The number of schools and students has grown by 8 and 11 fold respectively in Senafe sub-zone, Southern region, over the last 20 years, which in turn would have significant role to play in the endeavors for the development of education, stated the head of the branch office of Ministry of Education in the sub-zone, Mr. Omeredin Mohammed.
Senafe, 13 March 2011 – The number of schools and students has grown by 8 and 11 fold respectively in Senafe sub-zone, Southern region, over the last 20 years, which in turn would have significant role to play in the endeavors for the development of education, stated the head of the branch office of Ministry of Education in the sub-zone, Mr. Omeredin Mohammed.
According to Mr. Omeredin, there exist 56 elementary, junior and secondary schools, rendering services to more than 22,000 students. He also said that the introduction of student-centered approach is registering tangible change and that trainings are offered to upgrade teachers’ capacity.
Furthermore, the head of the branch office explained that the efforts to enhance society’s awareness regarding the importance of mother tongue so as to achieve practical result is bearing fruitful outcome. He said that the strategy has great role to play in the traditional practices and societies values.
