Asmara, 13 March 2011 –Orota Post-graduate School graduated four pediatric specialist doctors, who have been following their studies for two yeas.
Speaking at the graduation ceremony, Dr. Ogbaselasie Gebreamlak, assistant director of the school, pointed out that they are providing special training courses in pediatrics, surgery and obstetrics, and so far has graduated 12 pediatrician specialists. In this respect, the number of professionals has increased double fold from 2008, he added.
Moreover, Dr. Ogbaselasie stated that the previous graduates have been assigned to work in Keren, Mendefera, Adi-Keih, Ginda and Barentu hospitals. He also said that Eritrea is carrying out exemplary efforts to achieve the Millennium Development Goals having reduced mortality rates among children under the age of 5.
The representative of the graduates reiterated readiness to make utmost efforts to ensure child safety.
The Minister of Health, Ms. Amna Nurhusien, handed certificates to the graduates and said that the college is graduating pediatrician doctors for the second time. She also highlighted that the graduation of specialists is aimed at creating conducive grounds to render full child health care services.
