The National High School Leaving Certificate Examination is being given in various schools inside the country and those international schools of the Eritrean Community in Saudi Arabia, according to Dr. Bisrat Gebru, director of testing center of the National Board of the Eritrean Institutions of Higher Education.
Asmara, 14 March 2011 – The National High School Leaving Certificate Examination is being given in various schools inside the country and those international schools of the Eritrean Community in Saudi Arabia, according to Dr. Bisrat Gebru, director of testing center of the National Board of the Eritrean Institutions of Higher Education.
She pointed out that the exams cover 12 subjects and that over 19,645 students, out of whom 8,000 are females are taking part in the examination being given in Sawa, Asmara, Keren, Hagaz, Nacfa, Massawa, Dekemhare and Mai-Habar, as well as in Riyadh and Jeddah. Out of the total number of the participants, the 17,000 are those students who have been attending regular classes in the Warsay-Yikaalo School in Sawa.
The director of Warsay-Yikaalo Secondary School, Mr. Kiflai Andemichael, said on his part that this year’s batch scored better results in model exams compared to last year’s students. In this connection, he expressed that they would also score even better results in this year’s matriculation examination. Mr. Kiflai further emphasized the significance of the support and care being extended to students on the part of teachers and caretakers in upgrading the academic performance of the students.
Likewise, the students commended the support being demonstrated by teachers and caretakers and expressed hope of scoring high grade in the national exams.
