Edi Community Hospital begins rendering service

Edi Community Hospital in Central Denkalia sub-zone that was constructed at an expenditure of over 13 million Nakfa in 2010 is rendering commendable service.

Central Denkalia, 17 March 2011 – Edi Community Hospital in Central Denkalia sub-zone that was constructed at an expenditure of over 13 million Nakfa in 2010 is rendering commendable service.

The hospital renders health care service, vaccination, pre-and post-delivery and dental services. It is also equipped with waiting rooms for pregnant mothers and ambulances, among others.

Following a visit to the hospital, the Minister of Health, Ms. Amna Nurhusein, said that the service being provided at the community hospital has already laid strong basis for greater accomplishments. The Minister further explained that there are plan to enhance health services in the area.

The head of the Ministry’s branch office in the Southern Red Sea region, Dr. Afwerki Berhe, on his part recalled that the inhabitants in the area used to travel about 190 Km. to Assab town so as to obtain health service. At present, however, such a problem is no more, he added.

Edi Community Hospital comprises 37 rooms, 12 toilets and two water reservoirs with a capacity of holding 72 cubic meters of water.
