Inhabitants of Adi-Kei and Adi Sheik Al-Amin to make good use of educational opportunity

The head of basic education  in Gash-Barka region, Ms. Nejat Ibrahim, called on the inhabitants of Adi-Kei in Agordate sub-zone and Adi-Sheik Al-Amin  in Dige sub-zone to avail themselves of the available educational opportunity.

Agordat, 19 March 2011 – The head of basic education  in Gash-Barka region, Ms. Nejat Ibrahim, called on the inhabitants of Adi-Kei in Agordate sub-zone and Adi-Sheik Al-Amin  in Dige sub-zone to avail themselves of the available educational opportunity.

In a meeting with the respective inhabitants, she indicated that although schools have been opened in their respective areas, the parents are not sending their children to school at the desired level. In this respect, Ms. Nejat urged the parents to be well aware of the significance of education, and thereby ensure the bright future of their children.

The Administrator of Agordat sub-zone, Mr. Awurelyo Jacomino, said on his part that efforts would continue in an enhanced manner this year towards expanding basic social services in remote areas with special emphasis on educational opportunity.

Likewise, the head of Adult Education Program in the region, Mr. Jacam Odi, gave briefings on the importance of eradicating illiteracy and called on every national to participate in the program.
