Concerted efforts of parents and teachers vital in registering growth in educational sector of Hamelmalo

The achievements registered in education in Hamelmalo administrative areas is a result of joint efforts on the part of parents and teachers. This was disclosed in a meeting held between the director of Martyr Tahir Salim Elementary and Junior School, Mr. Jabir Ibrahim Etel and parents. Hamelmalo, 20 March 2011 – The achievements registered in education in Hamelmalo administrative areas is a result of joint efforts on the part of parents and teachers. This was disclosed in a meeting held between the director of Martyr Tahir Salim Elementary and Junior School, Mr. Jabir Ibrahim Etel and parents.

Mr. Jabir highlighted that the participation of female students in elementary and junior levels have increased by 50% and 35% respectively. He also said that the introduction of student-centered approach is encouraging students to personally exert efforts on their studies.  Mr. Jabir called on parents to supervise their children.

He further said that the 100%promotion of 8th grade students to next level demonstrates the concerted effort exerted.

The participants of the meeting reminded the concerned bodies to provide educational materials, computers and library among others.

During the meeting, outstanding students received prizes from acting administrator of Hamelmalo sub-zone, Mr. Fitwi Gebremeskel and other officials.
