Banatom Factory in Alebu, Haikota sub-zone, is making vital contribution in nurturing skilled manpower and creating job opportunities, stated Capt. Tedros Tesfai, head of technique in the Public Technical Service branch in Gash-Barka region.
Alebu, 21 March 2011 – Banatom Factory in Alebu, Haikota sub-zone, is making vital contribution in nurturing skilled manpower and creating job opportunities, stated Capt. Tedros Tesfai, head of technique in the Public Technical Service branch in Gash-Barka region.

He indicated that at present in particular the factory is fully run by local experts, and that the youth working in it have already acquired praiseworthy skill.

Noting that the factory has provided job opportunities to over 300 nationals, Capt. Tedros stressed its significance in facilitating urbanization in the area.

The employees of the factory stated that the entire activities of the factory are being controlled through computerized system, and that they have mastered the operation.

Banatom Factory is processing 3,000 to 5,000 quintals of tomatoes daily in a modern way for export purpose. The agricultural projects in Gerset, Fiesko, Adi-Omar and Molober are playing big role in supplying tomatoes to it.
