He explained that 4 wells have been dug and 12 water distribution stations constructed so as to ensure the provision of potable water supply. Noting that there were only 3 schools in the town before independence, Mr. Seid pointed out that at present there exist 10 schools providing educational opportunities ranging from kindergarten to secondary level. The number of students participation in education has equally increased multifold.
He further indicated that the construction of the road running from Mai-Adkemom to Bonrespiro constitutes a major accomplishment that eased high traffic, besides giving added color to the town.
Moreover, Mr. Seid noted that on top of the available health centers, the construction of a regional referral hospital in the town is giving rise to the provision of reliable health service. As regards transport service, 63 buses and minibuses are rendering service along the lines of Ginda-Massawa, Ginda-Gahtelai, Ginda-Nefasit and Ginda-Asmara routes.
There are about 1,500 residential complexes constructed in a modern way in accordance with master plan, and that the number of residents in the town has increased from 4,000 prior to independence to over 20,000 at present.
Mr. Seid stated that future action plan would focus on the renovation of old residential complexes, construction of market center, expansion and renovation of schools, among others.
Reports indicate that there are 363 service-rendering enterprises and 5 factories in Ginda town.
