Road renovated through popular campaign in Mai-Mine sub-zone

The inhabitants of Adi-Nala, Debre, Shum-Tombosa, Adi-Bihailai, Adi-Merho, Debremariam and Adi-Kudada administrative areas in Mai-Mine sub-zone renovated the Maimine-Endagergis road and the Maimine-Adi Gergish-Ubel road. Mai-Mine, 23 March 2011 – The inhabitants of Adi-Nala, Debre, Shum-Tombosa, Adi-Bihailai, Adi-Merho, Debremariam and Adi-Kudada administrative areas in Mai-Mine sub-zone renovated the Maimine-Endagergis road and the Maimine-Adi Gergish-Ubel road.

Reports indicated that the 45 Km-long road that was damaged by heavy rains used to cause transport problem. The renovation of the road would now relieve adjacent villages from such problem, according to Mr. Tekle Mehari, head of administration and finance in the sub-zone.

Reports indicated that the local inhabitants took active part in the undertaking that continued for over a month. The participants of the campaign highlighted the importance of road repair which is of vital economic significance as it connects agricultural sites.
