Administrators and health professionals called upon to back up sanitation programs

A training of trainers that was held in Barentu highlighted the need for administrators and health professionals to exert coordinated endeavors in raising public awareness regarding sanitation so that the effort to ensure public health may bear fruitful outcome.

Barentu, 24 March 2011 – A training of trainers that was held in Barentu highlighted the need for administrators and health professionals to exert coordinated endeavors in raising public awareness regarding sanitation so that the effort to ensure public health may bear fruitful outcome.

In the training in which sub-zonal administrators and health experts took part, the head of the Health Ministry’s branch in Gash-Barka region, Dr. Leul Banteyirga, indicated that the Ministry is making relentless endeavors towards ensuring public heath. To this end, he emphasized the paramount role of administrators and health professionals.

The head of environmental sanitation in the region, Mr. Teklom Yebiyo, said on his part that the training is aimed at strengthening community-based sanitation programs in the region, and thereby promote sound ecology. 

Similarly, the head of environmental sanitation in the Ministry, Dr. Tekeste Araya, called on administrators and health professionals to back up community-based sanitation activities.
