The implementation of potable water supply project in Agrae-Tehat, Nacfa sub-zone, 3 years ago has brought about lasting solution to the previously acute shortage of clean water.
Nacfa, 24 March 2011 – The implementation of potable water supply project in Agrae-Tehat, Nacfa sub-zone, 3 years ago has brought about lasting solution to the previously acute shortage of clean water.
The inhabitants explained that prior to the implementation of the project, they were compelled to migrate to other areas due to lack of potable water, thus abandoning the area rich in agricultural and herding potentials.
They further stated that the implementation of the project that runs for 24 hours has in particular relieved mothers from extra burden. Noting that they used to travel from 45 to 80 kilometers in search of water, the inhabitants indicated that the project enabled them to send their children to school, besides undertaking agricultural activities in advance.
The Administrator of the area, Mr. Hamid Nor Mohammed-Ali, pointed that the implementation of the potable water supply project encouraged many families to build residential houses and lead settled pattern of life. He further highlighted the need for constructing water reservoirs so as to enrich underground water resource.
Agrae-Tehat is located about 35 Km. north-west of Nacfa town.
