Asmara, 29 March 2011- Tourists from Germany, Austria, Britain, Switzerland, Canada and Japan said that Eritrea’s steam locomotive is a great tourist attraction and that it should be promoted further for more economic benefits.
Visiting the country for the second time, British tourist, Mr. John Dawson said that he has witnessed many developments since his last trip and that he has spent a tranquil vacation time in the country while taking a trip from Asmara to Massawa on the steam locomotive.
Austrian visitor on his 12th trip to the country, Mr. Peter Tschulik expressed his fascination with the Eritrean railway as well as the local art-deco buildings.
Visiting Eritrea for the first time, Dutch tourist, Mr. Paul Dorsemagen said that the country is attractive for its peace and stability and expressed his admiration for the art-deco buildings.
Stating that he was first introduced to Eritrea via television, Japanese visitor, Mr. Takahide Yamamoto said that he particularly enjoyed visiting the port city of Massawa.
Swiss visitor, Mr. Markus Fiselw on his part expressed admiration for the steam locomotives and said he was impressed by the people’s pride in their country and government.
On his 6th visit to Eritrea, German tourist, Mr. Bernd Seiler pointed out that Eritrea is endowed with a rich history and hospitable people and is also a safe destination for tourists.
