Asmara, 2 April 2011 – The Health Ministry’s branch in the Central region held a meeting on assessing work accomplishments in collaboration with partners as regards uprooting harmful practices on women.
In the meeting in which representatives of the people took part, the head of health fertility in the branch office, Mr. Solomon Kelifa, indicated that concerted action is being taken to raise public awareness.
Also in a report she presented, the head of NUEW branch in the region, Mr. Tekea Tesfamichael, outlined the proclamation issued pertaining to combating harmful practices and its mode of implementation.
The participants of the meeting stressed the need for enhancing awareness raising campaign.
