The administrator of Rokhoito administrative area, Mr. Dini Omer disclosed that the dam being constructed in the area with the collaboration of the Southern region administration and development partners is already playing due role in alleviating potable water supply shortages.
Rokhoito, 3 April 2011- The administrator of Rokhoito administrative area, Mr. Dini Omer disclosed that the dam being constructed in the area with the collaboration of the Southern region administration and development partners is already playing due role in alleviating potable water supply shortages.
Indicating that the inhabitants of the area have for long suffered due to water shortages, the administrator stated that the construction of the dam has provided a much needed solution for the people and livestock in the area.
An expert in soil and water conservation in Adi-Keih, Mr. Mulugeta Fitwi on his part said that the dam is not only alleviating water shortage problems but will also serve in boosting underwater sources and expanding irrigational farming.
The Rokhoito dam which is being constructed at a cost of 4.5 million Nakfa is also expected is serve in the cultivation of over 200 hectares of agricultural land in the area.
