The head of Agriculture Ministry in the Dbaruwa sub zone, Mr. Debesay Andemariam stated that commendable work has been accomplished in boosting animal breeding and vegetable cultivation as well as soil and water conservation.
Dbaruwa, 5 April 2011- The head of Agriculture Ministry in the Dbaruwa sub zone, Mr. Debesay Andemariam stated that commendable work has been accomplished in boosting animal breeding and vegetable cultivation as well as soil and water conservation.
According to Mr. Debesay, there are 27 dams and 15 ponds in the sub zone which are making due contribution in alleviating water shortage problems as well as in the cultivation of surrounding agricultural lands.
Reports from the area indicate that more than 200,000 quintals of vegetables were cultivated through these dams and supplied to the public at fair prices. Moreover, enhanced animal breeding efforts have resulted in increased milk production.
