Massawa, 13 April 2011 – The regional Assembly of Northern Red Sea has played significant role in identifying and providing public demand and enhancing participation in all-round development endeavors, stated Mr. Ibrahim Ali Sheik, the chairperson.
He told ERINA that the regional Assembly has been actively engaged in monitoring the implementation of set programs, combating harmful traditional practices, raising productivity, following up environmental pollution and forest destruction, besides soil and water conservation activities and promoting societal awareness regarding political, economic and social affairs.
Pointing out that preserving historical sites and artifacts in the region is part of the Assembly’s preoccupations; Mr. Ibrahim explained that the experience gained over the past years would serve as a stepping stone for greater outcome.
Moreover, he called on the public at large to judiciously apply the available facilities, and step up contribution towards the realization of the envisaged development programs.
