Inhabitants of Southern region carrying out campaigns

The inhabitants of 12 sub-zones in the Southern region are currently engaged in campaigns which include the leveling of agricultural plots, construction of water diversion schemes and the like, according to reports. Mendefera, April 16, 2011- The inhabitants of 12 sub-zones in the Southern region are currently engaged in campaigns which include the leveling of agricultural plots, construction of water diversion schemes and the like, according to reports.
Since the commencement of the initiative in the month of January, encouraging outcome has been registered in the sub-zones Mendefera, Dubarwa, Dekemhare, Adi-Keih and Senafe. As a result, over 230 hectares of agricultural land has been properly leveled, thus making it ready for cultivation.
According to reports, the aforementioned activities have been going in the region since 2009.
