Major Development Programs Implemented In Mogolo Sub-Zone

Major development and infrastructure programs were implemented in Mogolo sub-zone over the past 20 years with a view to improving people’s living standard, according to Mr. Mohammed Hamid, Administrator of the sub-zone. Mogolo, 19 April 2011 – Major development and infrastructure programs were implemented in Mogolo sub-zone over the past 20 years with a view to improving people’s living standard, according to Mr. Mohammed Hamid, Administrator of the sub-zone.

He said that commendable social services including education, health, potable water supply and transport have been provided in 11 administrative areas of the sub-zone.

Mr. Mohammed further stated that there exist a junior school, 6 kindergartens in Mogolo urban center and that student enrollment has increased by 200%, thus reaching over 2,000. Moreover, he indicated that the available health stations in Kofrienko and Tombita, as well as health center in Mogolo are rendering better service.   Moreover, the inhabitants of the sub-zone have access to 18-hour electricity and 24-hour mobile phone services, in addition to potable water supply.

Mr. Mohammed further explained that the construction of water diversion scheme in Terkina and Berhatera and construction of 7 ponds around rangelands are playing vital role in ensuring food security and rising animal husbandry.
