As part of the endeavors carried out, the Ministry of Public Works has registered a commendable outcome in the regard of ensuring quality standards of engineering projects

Asmara, April 24, 2011- As part of the endeavors carried out, the Ministry of Public Works has registered a commendable outcome in the regard of ensuring quality standards of engineering projects worth over 11 billion, according to the head of Engineering Department of the Ministry, Mr. Hadish Tesfamichael.
In an interview he conducted in connection with the forthcoming symposium of the Ministry, that is to be held between 25th-27th April, Mr. Hadish stated that the Department has made considerable input towards the ongoing development projects by ensuring standards.
Noting that engineering projects often affect numerous socio-cultural activities, he said that major projects such as the construction of the Sawa Vocational and Training Center, referral hospitals, colleges, residential areas, factories and stores, as well as the construction of the Massawa International Airport were some of the projects that were overseen by the Ministry. He further noted that the Engineering Department has checked and approved of 185 government projects and 587 private ventures worth more than 5 billion Nakfa.
