Hagaz, 29 April 2011 – Close to 90% of residents in Hagaz town has access to potable water supply thanks to the vigorous endeavors made over the past 20 years, stated Mr. Tiumzgi Yohannes, Administrator of the town.
He indicated that Hagaz town with a population of over 20,000 is visited by a number of guests daily as it is located along the main line of the Asmara-Tessenei road.
Mr. Tiumzgi further explained that a potable water supply project at a cost of 1.6 million Nakfa was implemented in the town in 1996 that played due role in easing potable water supply problem.
Noting that there exist 4 wells that provide sufficient potable water supply to the town, he stated that 8 water distribution stations are available so as to introduce running water in the respective households.
