Eritrean Cattle Corporation is striving to enhance the supply of meat and dairy products both in quality and quantity at fair price, according to Lt. Colonel Hadera Gebremedhin, head of the corporation in Gash-Barka region.
Barentu, 29 April 2011 – Eritrean Cattle Corporation is striving to enhance the supply of meat and dairy products both in quality and quantity at fair price, according to Lt. Colonel Hadera Gebremedhin, head of the corporation in Gash-Barka region.

He told ERINA that in accordance with the plan drawn up, the corporation has gathered government-owned cattle resource in different institutions in 2010 and embarked on such activities.

Lt. Colonel Hadera further indicated that at present the corporation owns over 1,000 cows and over 3,300 goats. The necessary facilities have also been put in place in Tekreret, Mogolo and Gahtelai with a view to fostering dairy farming activities.

He also indicated that the animal feed processing plant in Alebu is playing vital role in meeting the demand of the corporation.
