The 2nd conference of YPFDJ in Jeddah was conducted from April 27 to 29 under the theme: “Continued Rebuff towards Safeguarding Sovereignty and Enhancing Development Endeavors.” Asmara, 4 May 2011 – The 2nd conference of YPFDJ in Jeddah was conducted from April 27 to 29 under the theme: “Continued Rebuff towards Safeguarding Sovereignty and Enhancing Development Endeavors.”
The participants of the conference conducted discussion taking President Isaias Afwerki’s salient remarks highlighting that nation building involves the nurturing of youths and people as a reference.
In an opening speech, the Eritrean Ambassador to Saudi Arabia, Mr. Mohammed Omar Mahmoud, called on the YPFDJ to play a leading role in the political, social, economic and cultural domains.
Likewise, the head of Organizational Affairs at the PFDJ, Mr. Abdalla Jabir, pointed out that the nation-building process involves raising the youth’s consciousness, organizing them and equipping them with the necessary skill and knowledge, as well as overcoming challenges and making history. To this end, the PFDJ official stressed the paramount importance of strengthening the organizational capacity of youths inside the country and abroad.
Following discussion on the work accomplishments of the branch, the participants elected a new Executive Committee.
