Musical Concert To Be Staged In Connection With Independence Day Celebrations

A musical concert in which renowned Eritrean and foreign artists would take part is to be staged so as to give added color to the 20th anniversary of Independence Day celebrations. Asmara, 4 May 2011 – A musical concert in which renowned Eritrean and foreign artists would take part is to be staged so as to give added color to the 20th anniversary of Independence Day celebrations.

Renowned musical clubs and individual artists from around the world such as the “Umoja Band” from South Africa, “Falani” from Germany, “Enjoy” from Sweden, “EriAM Sisters” that include 3 Eritrean sisters residing in the United States would participate in the concert. Besides, renowned individual artists like Jos Chamelon and Jackey Chandru from Uganda, Eritrean artist Laine Tadesse and Sador Tesfamichael from the USA, as well as famous Eritrean artist Betty Zeru from Sweden and other would take part, according to the Culture Committee.

Reports further indicated that the artists from abroad numbering 57 would stage musical performance at Cinema Roma, City Park and Bahti Meskerem Square, as well as at Asmara Stadium during the official celebration.

Independence Day celebrations would begin as of 13 May featuring various programs, according to the National Holidays Coordinating Committee.
