Land leveling and other agricultural activities are underway to boost agricultural production in Nacfa sub-zone, according to Mr. Jabir Mohammed, head of the Agriculture Ministry’s branch in the sub-zone.
Nacfa, 7 May 2011 – Land leveling and other agricultural activities are underway to boost agricultural production in Nacfa sub-zone, according to Mr. Jabir Mohammed, head of the Agriculture Ministry’s branch in the sub-zone.
He indicated that over 2,000 hectares have so far been cultivated through tractors and urged farmers to step up farming activities. Mr. Jabir further called on them to actively engage in diverting river waters for agriculture purpose during the rainy season, in addition to strengthening water catchments and embankments.
The head of agricultural affairs at the Anseba region’s public technical service, Mr. Michael Solomon, said on his part that 13 tractors are being deployed to facilitate agricultural activities in Nacfa sub-zone.
