Inhabitants Of Adi-Keih Sub-Zone Express Impression With The Construction Of Kohaito-Foro Road

The inhabitants of Adi-Keih sub-zone in the eastern escarpments expressed high hope with the construction of the strategic Kohaito-Foro road which would link Southern and Northern Red Sea regions. They said that the road being constructed on the basis of the internal capacity would bring about tangible socio-economic improvements in their lifestyle. Adi-Keih, 7 May 2011 – The inhabitants of Adi-Keih sub-zone in the eastern escarpments expressed high hope with the construction of the strategic Kohaito-Foro road which would link Southern and Northern Red Sea regions. They said that the road being constructed on the basis of the internal capacity would bring about tangible socio-economic improvements in their lifestyle.

The inhabitants explained that previously, they used to encounter acute transport problem, especially in taking patients to hospital due to lack of suitable road. At present, however, pregnant mothers and patients have easy access to transport service in order to obtain health service, they added.  The inhabitants further noted that prior to the construction of the road; it used to take them days to travel to Adi-Keih or Masswa. 

The acting head of Safora administrative area, Mr. Abdella Mohammed Taha, said on  his part that the construction of the road that is  nearing finalization was a demanding-task and that supportive walls, embankments and terraces are being put in place through active popular participation.

The head of the project in Bidho Construction Company, Mr. Fitwi Zere, pointed out that the construction of the road attests to the work capability of the Company, and that it has already brought about noticeable improvement in the people’s living standard. In this connection, he commended the creativity and dedication of the members engaged in the project.

The 115 Km-long strategic Kohaito-Foro road which is of vital significance is designed to connect Southern region with the Northern Red Sea region, and that 85% of the project has been accomplished.
