Preparations for Carnival in Northern Red Sea Region finalized

Preparations for a carnival display in connection with Independence Day celebrations have been finalized in the Northern Red Sea Region, according to Mr. Mahteme Askelawi, Chairperson of the Committee overseeing the preparations. Massawa, May 10, 2011- Preparations for a carnival display in connection with Independence Day celebrations have been finalized in the Northern Red Sea Region, according to Mr. Mahteme Askelawi, Chairperson of the Committee overseeing the preparations.
Mr Mahteme outlined that the primary objective of the carnival is to display and represent the nation’s cultural and social heritages. He further outlined that shows depicting the heroic feats of the struggle for independence as well as the struggle against the TPLF regime’s war of aggression would be staged in the carnival.
