Arriving Eritrean citizens from abroad express pride for personally participating in Independence Day celebrations

Eritrean nationals residing abroad who arrived in the Homeland to participate in the 20th anniversary of Independence Day celebrations expressed satisfaction and pride  for personally witnessing the great event amidst compatriots.  Asmara, 14 May 2011 – Eritrean nationals residing abroad who arrived in the Homeland to participate in the 20th anniversary of Independence Day celebrations expressed satisfaction and pride  for personally witnessing the great event amidst compatriots. 

Mr. Solomon Simon and wife from the US said that this year’s Independence Day celebrations is unique as it is taking place at a time when the Eritrean people emerged victorious through overcoming multiple challenges.

Mr. Estifanos Sium and Mr. Leul Woldegergish, both from the Netherlands on their part expressed delight for personally participating in the celebrations for the first time.

Likewise,  the “EriAm Sisters, 3 Eritrean citizens from USA, stated that they would present various musical performances on the occasion and that the arrival of citizens from nationals from abroad  to participate in the celebrations gave them moral boost.

Thousands of Eritrean nationals arrived in the Homeland through 29 flights in the last 14 days alone from the US, Canada, the Middle East, Europe and other countries, according to the Immigration Department.
