Asmara, 16 May 2011 – Foreign musicians expressed deep impression with the colorful celebrations marking the 20th anniversary of Independence Day, the harmony and nationalism of the Eritrean people and the various artistic programs being staged on a daily basis.
Members of the German-based “Falani Band” told ERINA that participating in the celebrations enabled them to get familiarized with the existing Eritrean musical potentials, original rhythm and traditional musical instruments.
The leader of the band, Artist Rahime Diallo, explained that he managed to get acquainted with Eritrea’s rich musical potential, and that the Eritrean rhythm is related to that of Senegal, Guinea and other African countries. He further expressed deep impression with the enthusiastic participation of the people in the Independence Day celebrations. In this connection, Artist Rahim said that such feeling of ardent nationalism could serve as an example to other African countries.
Senegali member of the band, Artist Ousseynou Tourkara, said on his part that the Eritrean Independence Day celebrations is quite unique both in terms of its organization and security.
“Falani Band” is a renowned musical group at the international level which comprises the nationals from Guinea, Senegal, Peru, Barbados, Albania and Germany.
