Foreign Ministry Symposium Concludes

The three-day Symposium of Foreign Ministry at Hotel Asmara Palace concluded today. In closing remarks, Foreign Minister Osman Saleh said that the study papers presented at the symposium were significant, especially in assessing and documenting the history of diplomatic activities.

Asmara, 18 May 2011 – The three-day Symposium of Foreign Ministry at Hotel Asmara Palace concluded today. In closing remarks, Foreign Minister Osman Saleh said that the study papers presented at the symposium were significant, especially in assessing and documenting the history of diplomatic activities.

Noting that the Foreign Ministry acquired valuable experience as it was established at the time the EPLF was formed as a political organization, he indicated that the Eritrean government has amply demonstrated its political path based on common interest over the past 20 years.

Also in a study paper he presented, the director general of information, Ambassador Negasi Sengal, pointed out that the Ministry is undertaking major tasks as regardsd developing human resource capacity so as to strengthen the nation’s diplomatic relations at the regional and international level.

He further explained that it is providing educational opportunities to staff members at home and abroad up to the M.A level.

A number of other study paper were presented focusing on Eritrea’s regional and international relations with various countries and organizations, the integrated rebuff and contribution of Eritrean citizens in the Diaspora,  as well as institutional work methodology and human resource development.
