Various Development Programs Worth Over 138 Million Nakfa Implemented In Afabet Sub-Zone

A number of development programs focusing on expanding social services and putting in place infrastructure facilities to the tune of over 138 million Nakfa were implemented in Afabet sub-zone over the past 20 years, according to Mr. Abdu Mohammed Telke, Administrator of the sub-zone.
Afabet, 18 May 2011 – A number of development programs focusing on expanding social services and putting in place infrastructure facilities to the tune of over 138 million Nakfa were implemented in Afabet sub-zone over the past 20 years, according to Mr. Abdu Mohammed Telke, Administrator of the sub-zone.

Accordingly, over 20 schools, 6 health institutions and over 50 wells have been constructed in the sub-zone, in addition to interlinking villages with one another through constructing dirt road, he elaborated.

Stating that the newly introduced mobile phone, electricity and transport services is facilitating the urbanization of the area, Mr. Abdu explained that the previously scattered villages of Kilamet, Kubkub, Felket and Kamchewa have been regrouped in one community and have already become beneficiaries of social services. Endeavors are also underway to regroup the villages of Naro, Tebe’at and Aget.

He further outlined the encouraging tasks accomplished in promoting irrigation farming in the sub-zone.
