Independence Day Celebrations Underway In Anseba Region In Colorful Manner

Various colorful programs involving active community participation began to be staged in Anseba region marking the 20th anniversary of  Independence Day, according to Ms. Jemila Osman, head of the holidays coordinating committee there Keren, 20 May 2011 –  Various colorful programs involving active community participation began to be staged in Anseba region marking the 20th anniversary of  Independence Day, according to Ms. Jemila Osman, head of the holidays coordinating committee there.

She explained that sports competitions at the level of school and administrative areas, general contests and the like have been finalized. Carnival and artistic shows highlighting the culture, tradition, heroism and integrated rebuff of the Eritrean people, as well as the accomplishments registered over the past 20 years are being staged beginning May 19.

Noting that community tents are being organized alongside the carnival, Ms. Jemila stated that various sports competitions, camel and horse racing, traditional shows, as well as artistic and vocational skill of youths would take place in the sub-zones of Sel’a, Kerkebet, Halhal, Habero, Hagaz, Elabered, Geleb, Hamelmalo and Adi-Tekelezan.
