Inhabitants Of Ginda Sub-Zone Obtaining Better Social Services

The service-rendering institutions put in place in Ginda sub-zone at an expenditure of over 765 million Nakfa over the past 20 years are providing better service to the public, stated Ms. Amna Haj Osman, Administrator of the sub-zone.
Ginda, 20 May 2011 – The service-rendering institutions put in place in Ginda sub-zone at an expenditure of over 765 million Nakfa over the past 20 years are providing better service to the public, stated Ms. Amna Haj Osman, Administrator of the sub-zone.

She told ERINA that 11 health institutions, a regional referral hospital and school of assistant nurse have been constructed in the sub-zone. Besides, there exist 11 wells, 15 ponds and 38 water distribution stations that are making due contribution as regards provision of potable water supply. Ms. Amna further indicated that the number of schools has increased from 13 to 61, which in turn raised student participation in education by 43%.

The sub-zonal Administrator further pointed out that effective tasks have been accomplished regarding achieving food security, soil and water conservation, distributing beehives, promoting animal husbandry and introducing smokeless ovens.

Ginda sub-zone with a population of over 53,000 comprises 16 administrative areas.
