Members of the community of Eritrean returnees from North America and Canada celebrated Independence Day here in the capital with patriotic spirit. Asmara, 21 May 2011 – Members of the community of Eritrean returnees from North America and Canada celebrated Independence Day here in the capital with patriotic spirit.

Ambassador Girmai Gebremariam presided  in the activities connected a picture portraying the strong integrated rebuff of the Eritrean citizens in the Diaspora against the unjust US-engineered sanctions resolution in the name of the Security Council.

The chairman of the community, Mr. Tedros Andemichael, pointed out that it is striving to popularize the existing strong bond between the people and the leadership, and that any conspiracy designed to undermine such an asset is doomed to failure.

Meanwhile, as part of the ongoing celebrations marking the 20th anniversary of Independence Day, documentary films titled “Keyahti Embeba” and “Zikri Eta Botoloni” were presented at Cinema Impero.
