Independence Day celebrated in Ginda sub-zone

The 20teh anniversary of Independence Day was today celebrated in Mai-Habar at the level of Ginda sub-zone in a colorful manner. Ginda, 21 May 2011 – The 20teh anniversary of Independence Day was today celebrated in Mai-Habar at the level of Ginda sub-zone in a colorful manner.

The celebrations conducted at the Mai-Habar Technical School were attended by the Minister of Justice, Ms. Fawzia Hashim, the Administrator of the Northern Red Sea region, Ms. Tsegereda Woldegergis, Army commanders, religious leaders, members of the public and Defense Force.

Speaking on the occasion, the Administrator of the sub-zone, Ms. Amna Haj Osman, stated that this year’s Independence Day is quite special as it is being celebrated at a time when the nation is registering impressive economic development.

The Administrator of Mai-Habar, Mr. Ahmed Heile, said on his part that Mai-Habar which used to be a site where enemy atrocities were committed is now being transformed into vocational and training center for the youth. More than 2,000 youths have so far graduated from the School in 10 batches, he added.

Keyahti Embeba and Mai-Adkemom cultural troupes staged musical performance, songs, poems and drams, thus adding color to the event.
