The Miss Independence contest conducted in connection with the 20th anniversary of Independence Day concluded today at the Expo grounds. Asmara, 21 May 2011 – The Miss Independence contest conducted in connection with the 20th anniversary of Independence Day concluded today at the Expo grounds.
A total of 102 misses from all the administrative regions of the country and abroad participated in the first round of the contest that involved three stages. Out of them, 35 were passed to the 2nd stage, out of whom only 18 made it to the finals.
The requirements for the contest were from 18 to 27 years of age, above 1.70 height and general knowledge potentials.
Accordingly, the first winner was awarded 50, 000 Nakfa, while the second and third winners received 30,000 and 20, 000 Nakfa respectively.
