Anseba region carnival stages in Keren town

Carnival of the Anseba region was conducted in Keren town yesterday portraying the culture and customs of the nationalities, as well as the development achievements of the past 20 years. Various institutions, ministries, associations, students and members of the general public participated in the carnival in which praiseworthy artistic and innovative skill featured. Speaking on the occasion, the Administrator of the town, Mr. Tekie Keleta, pointed out that the carnival depicts the history and identity of the people, as well as development accomplishments and future aspirations. In this respect, he stressed the need for taking concerted action to enhance community-based carnivals.

Meanwhile, youths in Keren town lauded the celebrations in different parts of the country which are being transmitted live via the national media outlets. They explained that the programs being  featured in the celebrations have a significant role to play in reinforcing their awareness regarding the heroism and history of their forefathers. They further stated that the dramas, songs, poetry recitals and artistic shows highlight the existing firm national unity.
