In the celebrations conducted in the semi-urban centers of Halhal and Asneda at the sub-zonal level, various programs reflecting the great Day were staged.
The Acting head of Halhal sub-zone, Mr. Jimi’e Hamid, indicated that the people and Government of Eritrea are exerting strenuous endeavors towards achieving food security and ensuring economic emancipation.
The Administrator of Asmat, Mr. Abubeker Mohammed Jim’e, said on his part that this year’s Independence Day is unique as it is being celebrated at a time when the nation is standing on solid ground. The cultural troupe of the respective sub-zones staged musical performance, in addition to presenting various songs and poems.
Meanwhile, the inhabitants of Era, Erota, Shaka, Wegriet, Hawush and Hirum have been celebrating the 20th anniversary of Independence Day in a similar manner since May 15. Peace demonstration, cultural and sports programs featured to give added color to the celebrations.
