Independence Day celebrations in Massawa port city conclude

Independence Day celebrations in all sub-zones and administrative areas of the Northern Red Sea region concluded yesterday at the  Massawa Stadium in a patriotic spirit. Massawa, 24 May 2011 – Independence Day celebrations in all sub-zones and administrative areas of the Northern Red Sea region concluded yesterday at the  Massawa Stadium in a patriotic spirit.

In the celebrations in which Government officials and thousands of nationals participated, the Administrator of the region, Ms. Tsegereda Woldegergis, stated that this year’s celebrations are unique, and  indicated that the Cement Factor in the region which is expected to make major contribution in the national economy is under effective production.

Noting that impressive development programs are being implemented that ensure the nation’s bright future, she pointed out that the Independence Day celebrations shoulder all nationals  heavy responsibility to march forward through honoring the trust of martyrs.

The Secretary of the PFDJ in the region, Mr. Hamid Haj, on his part called on every citizen to enhance participation in the national development drive.

Likewise, the Administrator of Massawa sub-zone, Ms. Fana Tesfamariam, explained that the task of ensuring equitable expansion of social services in all domains is being given top priority, and urged the general public to redouble endeavors to this end.
