Eritrean nationals in South Africa celebrate 20th Independence Day anniversary with patriotic zeal

Eritrean nationals residing in South Africa celebrated the 20th Independence Day anniversary with patriotic zeal under the theme “Perfect Harmony for National Dignity”.

Asmara, 26 May 2011 – Eritrean nationals residing in South Africa celebrated the 20th Independence Day anniversary with patriotic zeal under the theme “Perfect Harmony for National Dignity”.   

During the celebrations in the city of Johannesburg in which Eritrean nationals in South Africa, Botswana, Namibia, Zimbabwe, Angola and Mozambique as well as invited guests took part.  Keih Meret cultural troupe added color to the event.

Speaking on the occasion, the Eritrean Ambassador to South Africa and southern Africa, Mr. Saleh Omar, pointed out that the past 20 years since the achievement of independence were period of dignity, and that the celebrations provide a special occasion to renew our pledge to build a strong and prosperous nation.

Reports disclosed that a number of officials of the South African and diplomats of different countries participated in the celebration.
