The inhabitants of the sub-zones of Tessenei and Haikota, Gash-Barka region, celebrated the 20th anniversary of Independence Day with zeal. Tessenei, 26 May 2011 – The inhabitants of the sub-zones of Tessenei and Haikota, Gash-Barka region, celebrated the 20th anniversary of Independence Day with zeal. The Eritrean people’s steadfastness and endeavors to achieving economic emancipation featured prominently in the celebrations.
In the celebrations in Tessenei sub-zone included exhibitions portraying the resilience and heroic feats of the Eritrean people as well as their unity, in addition to the all-round development programs undertaken in the past 20 years. Moreover, carnival was conducted in which various firms, service-rendering establishments, fruits and vegetables framing communities, as well as manufacturing plants highlighted their work accomplishments.
Likewise, the inhabitants of the administrative areas of Aligidir, Sitmo and Telateasher colorfully celebrated the 20th anniversary of Independence Day.
Meanwhile, the inhabitants of Haikota sub-zone celebrated Independence Day with zeal. Various programs highlighting the positive outcome of self-reliance, the pursuit of independent political path, as well as the strong unity of the Eritrean people featured prominently.
