Harat Public Technical Service covers 90% of transport service in densely populated areas

Harat Public Technical Service has managed to cover 90% of transport service in the densely populated areas, according to Lt. Colonel Yosef Mekonnen, manager of the institution.

Asmara, 28 May 2011 – Harat Public Technical Service has managed to cover 90% of transport service in the densely populated areas, according to Lt. Colonel Yosef Mekonnen, manager of the institution.

He indicated that it is not only expanding service but also rendering commendable service in greater portion of the country thanks to the minibuses and buses being introduced from time to time.

Reports indicated that the institution has managed to transport over 3 million passengers last year and has expanded service through opening additional  16 transport lines this year.

Lt. Colonel Yosef further indicated that there are plans to expand service in those areas where no  transport service exists and called on administrative regions and localities to work diligently in the construction and renovation of roads.

Harat Public Technical Service that began operation with 19 minibuses now possesses a total of 315 buses and minibuses.
