Speaking at the conference, the Minister of Education, Mr. Semere Russom, pointed out that the basic objective of the Eritrean education rests on ensuring equitable expansion, upgrading the quality and competence of education, and above all fulfilling socio-economic aspirations of the people.
Stressing the significance of nurturing skilled human resource capacity in the contemporary world, the Minister noted the need for formulating policy that preserves the identity and history of the nation, safeguards the unity of the people and encourages innovation, as well as one that ensures the participation of all citizens.
In-depth discussion was also conducted on several topics, including the guidelines of the national educational policy, structure of the curriculum, education and organizing training programs, curriculum and review, as well as administration and finance.
Experts from the Ministry, institutions of higher education and partners attended the conference.
